Connect your AI assistant
One connector gives Claude or ChatGPT the BizGenius tools your account has — your citation library, ChatGenius visitor chats, Deep Analysis and academic leads — so you can ask about them directly, with no exporting or copy-pasting.
What your assistant gets
- Your citation library — the papers that cite your products, with counts, rankings and exports. For accounts with a BizGenius citation library.
- ChatGenius visitor chats — what visitors ask the AI assistant on your website: counts by day, country and page, the questions, and full conversations. For accounts using ChatGenius.
- Deep Analysis — the bibliometric landscape of a research field: publication trend, leading journals, authors, institutions and top papers. For accounts with Deep Analysis.
- Academic leads — researchers to contact, found through their publications and NIH grants, and contact-list exports. With a Leads subscription.
Your assistant only sees the tools your account includes. If your subscription changes, start a new chat and the tools update on their own — there is no need to reconnect.
The connection address
You will be asked for a URL. This is it:
https://www.bizgeniusapp.com/mcp/bizgenius.phpThere is no API key to copy. When you connect, a browser window opens and you sign in with the same BizGenius email and password you use for the dashboard. If you are already signed in, you just click Allow access.
Claude (desktop app, or claude.ai)
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter the name
BizGeniusand paste the address above. Leave Advanced settings alone — there is nothing for you to fill in there. - Sign in once and click Allow access — your assistant can use it from the next message.
On Claude's Free plan you can have one custom connector at a time — this single connector covers all of BizGenius.
If it does not answer straight away, open a new chat and check the connector is switched on for that conversation — the + menu at the bottom left, under Connectors.
ChatGPT
Works in the ChatGPT desktop app and at chatgpt.com, on a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu). On a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may have to allow custom MCP servers first.
- Click your profile picture at the bottom left, choose Settings, then Plugins.
- Click Add at the top right and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Enter the name
BizGenius, paste the address above as the Server URL, and leave Authentication on OAuth. - Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.
- Click Continue to BizGenius. A browser window opens: sign in if asked, then click Allow access.
ChatGPT asks you to confirm the first time it uses a tool. Every tool is read-only except the leads export, which emails a spreadsheet to you. If Add custom MCP server is not in the menu, turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings and look again.
Things to ask
- How many citations did we get this year? How does that compare to last year?
- Show me the 10 highest impact-factor papers that mention [your product].
- Which universities cite us most often?
- Find researchers in Germany working on CAR-T therapy who might use [your product]. Then export the full list.
- Is my leads export ready? How many leads credits do I have left?
- How many questions did visitors ask our website assistant in the past 30 days, day by day?
- What were visitors asking about last month? Which questions did the assistant answer badly?
What it can and cannot do
Apart from requesting leads exports — which are always emailed to your own address and use your leads credits — the connection is read-only. It cannot add, edit or delete anything, and it can only ever see your own account — never another customer's data.
To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT, or email us and we will revoke it from our side.
Already connected with an older address?
A connector set up with https://www.bizgeniusapp.com/api/mcp.php (citations
only) keeps working, and you do not need to change anything. If you would rather have
everything in one place, add the address above and remove the older one, so your assistant
does not see the same tools twice. Literature and patent search is a separate product with its
own connector — see BizGenius Patents/Scholar Search.
