Terms of Service

BizGenius lets an AI assistant you control access features of your BizGenius account on your behalf: your citation library and widget analytics, your ChatGenius analytics, academic leads, Deep Analysis of research fields, and literature and patent search. The tools available on a connection depend on the products your account holds. We may add, change or withdraw features.

• You must have a BizGenius account and authorize the connection through our sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your access secure.
• You may disconnect at any time from within your AI assistant; this revokes the connection’s access.
• You may use the Service only for your own account’s data and only for lawful purposes.

You agree not to:

• resell, redistribute or sublicense the Service or its data except as your BizGenius plan allows;
• attempt to circumvent usage limits, billing, authentication or access controls, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities without permission;
• use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages, or to contact people identified through academic leads in violation of applicable anti-spam, privacy or electronic-communication laws (for example CAN-SPAM, GDPR or similar);
• use any data from public literature, patent or grant sources in breach of those sources’ own terms;
• use the Service to build a competing dataset or service, or to train AI models on bulk-exported data.

Some features return personal data about other people — researcher contact details in a leads list, or your website visitors in ChatGenius analytics. For that data you are the controller and BizGenius processes it on your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it, for honoring individuals’ rights, and for complying with applicable privacy and marketing laws. See our Privacy Policy.

• Some features are free within limits; others are paid or metered by plan. Current plans and allowances are shown on your BizGenius account pages.
• Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Usage that exceeds a plan’s allowance may incur overage charges, for which we provide advance notice where practical.
• Usage limits and runaway safeguards exist to protect the Service and may pause activity that is abnormally high.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Results drawn from public literature, patent and grant databases depend on those sources and may be incomplete, estimated or out of date; we do not warrant their accuracy or completeness. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The Service, including its software and content, belongs to BizGenius or its licensors. Your own account data remains yours. Public database content remains subject to the rights of its respective owners.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BizGenius is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms, creates risk to the Service or others, or is required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which BizGenius is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
